Teets, 2024
unfired paperclay, polyurethane elastomer
30 x 50 x 30cm
Teets examines the evolving female body, exploring themes of lactation, transformation and societal perceptions of femininity. By reimagining traditional bust forms with exaggerated, weighty breasts, the work challenges idealised depictions rooted in religious and classical imagery that often reduces women’s bodies to symbols of fertility and desire. Teets critiques these constructs, reflecting on the tension between reverence and objectification in the enduring fetishisation of women’s breasts.
